Simply effective and totally worth every penny
Totally worth every penny. A quick way to plug in all those ethernet devices behind the TV cabinet. It’s tiny and totally silent. The QoS software baked in does a great job of prioritizing traffic especially with 4K video content and game play. There were no stutters or dropped frames that I sometimes got from being connected to WiFi only.

    Excellent well made quality switch
The TP-Link switch being metal is well constructed and extremely durable. It has been totally reliable and lives up to its speed rating. The unit does not overheat like some others do. This one is connected to my video editing room and has no problems keeping up with the data demands going through it. We switched all of our older switches to the TP-Link switches. A great product and well worth the price.

    Works great, affordable
Works great. Easy to install, just hook it up and it is up and running.

A sturdy Ethernet switch that would probably last my lifetime
One of the standout features of the TL-SG105S is its compact and sturdy design. The switch is built with high-quality materials and has a metal casing, which ensures durability and longevity. Additionally, its compact size allows for easy placement on a desk or shelf without taking up too much space.Overall, I highly recommend the TP-Link TL-SG105S to anyone in need of a reliable and high-speed Ethernet switch. It’s easy to set up, compact, and built to last, making it an excellent investment for both personal and professional use. It’s a definite 5-star product in my book!

This Festa Router is an awesome home lab/business router if linked to a free Festa Cloud Controller.
This TP-Link Festa POE router is pretty awesome. The hardware is excellent quality. The TP-Link Festa series hooks up to a free cloud based configuration controller that makes it very easy to configure and manage business networks built on this technology. My network is simple, just a Festa gateway and 2 Festa switches on a single site home lab. The cloud controller works very well for setting up and configuring my network, but I can see how it would be just as easy if I had multiple different sites that all had their own gateways and switches and WIFI hotspots with VPNs to send encrypted traffic between the sites. My only complaint, and the reason it gets a 4/5 instead of 5/5, is the documentation for the cloud controller is not as complete and well written as it could be, so leaning how to use the cloud controller was a project in itself BUT, once I had it down, it worked flawlessly and I couldn’t have hoped it would be any better. (Warning: If you want to use this router as a standalone router and not hook it up to the Festa Cloud controller, then it will be much harder to configure and some of its features may be difficult or impossible to use)

Great price vs speed for me
This gig switch is what I needed as it hit the price point of speed and cost. This will not be for everyone but the devices I’m using it with only have gig NICs. This is a dumb switch so no management options. Speed is sufficient. And the cables link up nicely when connected.

Do you really need this review?
I mean you can see already what it offers, it works really good, is small and easy to hide and has ways to mount it if you even want. If you are searching for something like this and the ports are enough for you the you should definitely buy it

  9. Raph

This listing is falsely advertising this switch as POE+ capable, it is not. This is just a basic layer 2 switch.

It is very important to know that this model DOES NOT work without the internet cloud service. The switch cannot be disabled from talking to its cloud management. TP-Link’s servers control everything it does and can snoop on who knows what. Also, someday in the future TP-Link can decide that your switch is “obsolete” and disable it. Mandatory cloud connectivity is a non-starter for me — stand alone self management is a necessity. It’s a shame, because it certainly has the technical ability to self manage like other TP-Link products and other than the absolute requirement for cloud connectivity, it is a great fit for my needs. Now I will have to return it and find a different SOHO switch with connections on the back and indicators on the front. Also, the power cable on the adapter is too short. It should be a metre longer.
