Product description

Can it work for routers with 12V USB ports now?
Not currently. We will include a DC to USB adapter in the future, but it’s not available now. If your router requires 12V USB input, you need to purchase a DC 5521 to USB adapter.

Great little piece of technology – meets our needs perfectly.
One of our most beloved pieces of technology is a DAKboard smart display in our apartment. It utilizes a DAKboard CPU based on a Raspberry Pi to drive a high-quality 32-inch monitor for display of photos, calendar, weather info, etc. In recent months we’ve been experiencing rapid-cycle power drop-outs/brown-outs with high winds in the area. These power issues can, and eventually will, damage the SD card in the Raspberry Pi which holds the DAKboard OS. I started looking for a solution and, thanks to an AI chat, was made aware of Mini DC UPSs (I’m an old-school tech guy and wasn’t aware these new, compact UPSs existed). This unit was extremely easy to set up and provides the proper power via the USB-C output to keep the Raspberry Pi going. We have not experienced another wind storm since I installed the UPS but, it being the time of year it is, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time.

Reliable
I’ve used this mini UPS for my router, and it really helps during short power cuts. The connection stays stable, so I don’t lose internet while working or streaming. The battery lasts a good amount of time before needing a recharge. Setup was simple, and it’s been reliable so far.

Misleading Specs
Why three stars because of very misleading specs… One of the photos states it has a LiFePo4 battery, this is not true. It contains four 2600 mAh 18650, 3.7v Li-Ion batteries wired in 2p2s. This basically means the capacity is a lie as it is only 5200 mAh because when you hook up batteries in series, you increase the voltage, not the capacity.Given the Li-Ion battery chemistry, you’ll be lucky to get 300 cycles out of this thing. On the other hand the voltage boost circuitry looks very well designed and should be able to provide the power levels it states it can do (12v, 2A max).I do like the small size and the fact that it has no annoying beeper to beep at all.The functionality of the UPS itself seems to be well thought out, but the battery lacks quite a bit in the chemistry it promised and the capacity it promised.

Keeps power going
A must have if you get tired of losing connectivity when the power goes out or just flickers. Connect multiple devices with the included power tips. Great size to provide reliable power when you need it.

The Yuuki Power UPS has not been used in anger yet as a UPS as my power is generally pretty stable. However, it has been in use for over a month now, powering both my BT/Plusnet hub2 router and the Openreach ONT which use both 12V connections giving me back a 240v power socket. The unit is especially useful in that it provides a rare 5.5×3.0 connector needed for the BT Hub as well as the two cables I needed. The display might be a bit bright for some people. Just waiting for a power cut now …

A nice little device for minor applications (e.g. keeping an ISP router powered), but I found the ‘charger’ unit/cable to be not fit for purpose (electrically under-rated). Either that, or the one I received was simply faulty. Basically what happened when tried is that it failed to keep the battery charged, so the battery was eventually drained by the load (ISP router). Amongst my ‘bits & bobs’, I found a beefier charger (ex laptop) which, when used as a substitute, enabled everything to work just fine. I subsequently did a battery autonomy check by switching off the AC mains, and after 4 hours of uninterrupted service, I checked the unit…it was indicating a single bar (like with a mobile phone), so I switched the mains back on. All has been fine ever since.

Consigliato.

Good quality looking product but unfortunately had to return as it would not work with a Sky Max Hub router via DC to USB-C cable. I understand this a sky router problem, rather than this device.Great compact size and unfortunate that it didn’t work out, but says it works with other router types.
