Great streaming video but not so good for video calls through Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
This is a great product however I’m only giving it four reviews because it does not connect very well to Microsoft Teams or other professional video services. I’m not talking about streaming. I haven’t tried that because it’s not what I intend to use it for. I need it for work purposes and it doesn’t connect well with Microsoft teams. I can’t adjust the settings like I need to and they change every time I try anyway.

Good combo unit to upgrade from iMac. Remote makes zooming and tracking easy.
This is a premium product compared to what I”m used do. This fills the void left when I left iMac for a Mini. It paired effortlessly on macOS. The resolution is great. The sound is mediocre but OK for video conferencing or recording small-time training videos. I am a pacer, so I was hopeful the tracking would help with that, but it doesn’t seem to really follow moving objects. For that, the remote fills the need and is easy to use. It’s a bit chunky atop my 27″ ASUS ProArt Display PA27JCV and mounting it there makes rotating the monitor a bit of a pain, but that’s the tradeoff with having it NOT integrated into the monitor.Overall, I’m quite pleased with this.

Linux-compatible 4K webcam with plug-and-Play setup
Based on the manual, my webcam uses a 1/2.8″ SONY CMOS sensor that records at 3840×2160@30fps resolution along with multiple other high-definition options. I can capture clear footage with its 8.29-megapixel sensor, and I like how the adjustable field of view ranges from 49° to nearly 119° depending on the mode I select. The unit has 5X digital zoom, electronic PTZ control when I zoom in, and AI-powered auto-framing with voice tracking capabilities.For audio, the four built-in microphones with their 5-meter pickup range work well for my needs, and the integrated speaker performs adequately. I connect it using the included USB-A to USB-C cable, which has a small screw on the Type-C end that securely fastens to prevent accidental disconnections during use. The webcam’s dimensions work well for my setup at approximately 211 × 58 × 50 mm.I particularly like the status LED that shows different colored lights and flashing patterns. I can immediately tell when both camera and microphone are active from the solid blue light. When my camera is on but microphone muted, I see a slowly flashing red light. The green light flashes when my microphone is active but camera is off, and both lights alternate flashing when everything is disabled. This visual system works well for me and makes the camera particularly valuable – I hate webcams that hide these important status indicators.The webcam arrived with a remote control that I use for adjusting zoom, volume, microphone mute, camera angles, and image orientation. The magnetic privacy cover protects the lens and ensures my privacy when I’m not using the camera, which I find useful. Setup was simple – it’s plug-and-play and works with my Linux system without requiring extra drivers.

Works as promised for the useful parts I tested
This is a larger web camera, measuring approximately 9″ across. It comes with a battery operated remote control (batteries not included), a USB-C (camera side) to USB-A (computer side) cable of reasonable quality, and a USB-A to USB-C adapter. The camera-side USB plug has a screw to prevent accidental disconnection.The camera case includes speaker(s) and microphone(s). As they are intended for voice, the speakers are predictably tinny with a musical program, but voice is clear and understandable. The microphone(s) also work well. As tested, the mics have no stereo effect that I could notice, but I may have overlooked some setting. Not very important to me.The lens, empirically measured with tape (and therefore not particularly accurate), on full wide angle, has a diagonal field of view with widescreen aspect ration of (very) approximately 17 inches at (very) approximately 6 inches away from the lens; on full telephoto, this becomes (same limitations) 10 inches when 6 inches away.Because of its size, this camera will not fit very comfortably on a small monitor. However, the base includes a threaded socket for a photographic tripod. Using this socket and whatever fits it, placement should not be a problem in any case.Installation is plug-and-play. My Windows 11 desktop recognized it immediately without glitching. Anything of significance can be controlled without adding additional software (whoo-hoo!) or bloatware to the PC. As tested, the Zoom application can see the camera and change setting as required. In addition, the remote control has a bunch of function that are accessible (and work — tested!) without being next to the keyboard or mouse.The AI tries to keep my face/body in the frame; I’m not entirely clear about what it does for voice, but at least it does not get in the way. Frankly, I have not tested the 4K meeting stream, because I’m not going to choke my WAN connection to allow whoever is on the other side to count the hair in my eyebrows. The 1080p resolution available with the plug-and-play driver is plenty good.Privacy wise, this camera has a colored LED ring around the lens, clearly visible, that can become green, red, or blue depending on what the camera is or is not doing. The lens can be covered with a magnetic cap, easy to attach or remove. However, this cap does not have a lanyard, and consequently is easy to misplace never to be found again. In truth, the flat top surface of the camera has a magnetic spot intended for temporary storage of the cap. I wish myself Good Luck not to lose this cap.Yes, it’s pricey, but it does what I tested it claims to do. I have not tried out everything, because some of the features I will probably never use. Skipping what for a Zoom camera is fluff, it could have been a little less expensive (1 star docked). However, if you are going to film anything in super-hi-rez glory, I suppose I may have been a little harsh.
