This camera is an excellent product that truly functions as intended. It’s incredibly easy to set up and performs like a $150 camera. It follows the object if it moves, and notifications pop up instantly on the Arlo app. The video quality is excellent at 2k, but I wish it had better zoom. It captures faces and license plates effortlessly. A built-in feature allows me to blur certain aspects for privacy. I use the Arlo Smarthub for additional protection and privacy. It saves everything to a memory card and is easy accessible via app. I can share clips, and images if needed.

The Arlo Essential Pan Tilt Security Camera 2K has been a solid upgrade to my home security setup. I really like how sharp and clear the 2K video looks—it makes it easy to see faces, small details, and what’s happening on my property at any time. The pan-and-tilt feature is one of my favorite parts because the camera can smoothly rotate and follow movement on its own, so I’m not stuck with a single static angle. The person recognition and package detection are also super helpful; instead of constant random alerts, I get more accurate notifications that actually matter. The animated previews save me time because I can quickly see what triggered the alert without watching a full clip. Setup was straightforward, and the wired plug-in power means I never have to worry about the camera dying or recharging batteries.If there’s anything I’d improve, it would be the dependency on the Secure Plan for some of the smarter features. The one-month trial is nice, but once it ends, you’ll want to subscribe to keep all the advanced AI detection and cloud storage. It would also be great if the pan-tilt controls responded just a little quicker in the app—sometimes there’s a slight delay. But overall, it isn’t enough to frustrate the experience.
