Would recommend 100%
It was very easy to install and pair to our wifi. The device worked for a few hours then it stopped responding and working. I contacted Aquanta support and they were very responsive and helpful. After troubleshooting back and forth, they shipped me a replacement device. Very pleased with the replacement. Its been working great since install.

Money saver for sure if you have a power company that regulates your time of use
I just installed the Aquanta Digital Water Heater Wifi Timer, and I must say it’s been a game-changer. It was extremely easy to install if you have a tiny bit of knowledge about electricity and know how to turn off your water heater at the breaker box. The ease of use and the ability to control my water heater from anywhere via the app have made my life so much more convenient. Not only does it help save energy, but it also ensures I have hot water ready when I need it. The installation was a breeze, and the user-friendly interface makes scheduling a breeze. As someone who appreciates technology making everyday tasks simpler, I highly recommend the Aquanta timer. My electrical company has a time of use cost increase on the weekdays from 4-7pm. I was able to turn off the water heater from heating at those times in order to avoid the water heater creating a demand charge. Could save us up to 50 a month which would pay for it self after 5-6 months.

Does not work with all water heaters…so check before you buy
Purchased and installed, all went well. Stopped working 1 week after installation. Reached out to support and they refunded my purchase. There is an issue with this device and some larger water heaters. Support is very responsive, so if you reach out and ask they will let you know.

Electric water heater timer
we are an all electric home in SC. Our Electric company started charging us for the highest peek hour each month @$13 Kwh in addition to regular hours so I wanted to turn off our water heater during peek hours determined by the electric company. The Aquanta timer works great you can set multiple times when you want power on or off. It was easy to install with basic electrical experience. The instructions were easy also. The only thing I would like would be a chart showing hourly usage it dose show each days usage.

This is a Game Changer
Aquanta is a must-have for your water heater. The only thing I do not like about this product is the app. It takes a while to navigate and understand, and it’s not always accurate. The controller itself, which is on the hot water heater, is perfect, and I suggest that everyone purchase one to save money on their power bill. As far as the app goes, an update is needed to make it easier to control. The controller gets 5 stars, while the app, in my opinion, gets 3.

Have problems with unit
Easy installation. But having problems with it since installing. Contact customer care. They responded with problem on their end with cloud. Now this was in January . I gave them time to repair problems. Now March I contacted them again and was told it was fixed but returned .This is a lie and now not returning my emails as keep sending screenshots of problems. No data available Waste of money. They not controlling my water heater at all. If you purchase this unit just throwing your money away

Smart Idea, But Mine Lost a Key Function and I’ve Lost Confidence
I’ve had the Aquanta smart controller on my water heater for a while now. At first, I was impressed: it gave me insight into when my electric element actually ran and confirmed that my solar hot water setup was doing most of the work. For example, I could see that the electric element rarely turned on except during long stretches of bad weather. However, after several months of normal operation, the energy readings went completely off the rails. In January, the Aquanta reported 2.15 GWh of electrical usage for my 50-gallon water heater in a single month. That number is physically impossible for a residential system like mine. Shortly after that, the device stopped reporting any energy usage at all.Right now:• The Aquanta still shows tank temperature in the app.• It still controls the heater and follows schedules.• But the current/energy monitoring appears to have failed and never recovered.I have not contacted Aquanta about the bad power readings, and I don’t plan to. That’s partly because of a previous interaction I had with them: I once requested a feature to view tank temperature over time (something the device clearly tracks internally). That request was dismissed without much explanation or willingness to engage, which didn’t inspire confidence in their responsiveness or interest in improving the product. On paper, Aquanta is a thoughtful, well-designed concept—especially for homes with solar hot water and off-peak electric backup. In practice, my unit has lost one of its main advertised benefits (accurate energy monitoring), and my earlier experience with support doesn’t make me optimistic about getting it fixed or improved.Based on my experience, I can’t recommend this product at its price point. The idea is good, but the combination of failed metering and unimpressive customer engagement makes it hard to trust for the long term.
