Easy build and sturdy
As someone new to homelabs I wanted to be a little more organized with my home server and this was a great option for the price.

Excellent rack for many purposes!
Ordered this to try to get my home lab items a little more organized, and this is thing is impressive, I must say! Here’s why:1. It is SUPER easy to put together, even if you have never assembled one of these before. It is packaged extremely well too – with protective film on the parts etc which make it shiny and new as soon as you have it all assembled. I really appreciate the care that was put into that, as it made sure it arrived in mint condition. When you are dealing with a lot of metal parts, this is more important than you think! It also comes with very easy to follow and well written instructions. They even threw in the screwdriver you will need and everything…so trust me, if I can put this together without getting frustrated, then YOU definitely can! :)2. It’s a good size where it’s not too large where it’s cumbersome, but it’s not too small where it’s not useful. It’s pretty much perfect for a lot of purposes and configurations. It’s a very flexible layout – the back plate is not fixed so you can move it as needed to put your network components.3. It’s sturdy but still light enough to not be an albatross that you need to deal with when you are trying to add anything to your network or make changes. The handles on top make it easy to move too in case you need to do that often.4. Since it’s an open design, you can not just access everything in there, but it naturally gets more ventilation than a closed rack. AND…there is room to add fans at the bottom too, a nice “extra” feature.5. The sides are made of tough, translucent acrylic so you still get that geeky look and you can see inside it, but without having it open or exposed. And…it’s super easy to add lights to also.6. If you have a bunch of extra external hard drives even and want to keep them together safetly…this is also a great way to do that.7. It’s priced according to what these devices typically cost BUT it is so much higher quality than others like this that I have had/used. Impressive! You really get a lot of bang for your buck here.If you have a server at home or want to set one up but don’t want the tangle of cords and rigging stuff etc and you just want everything in one spot – this is your solution. It’s well made, easy to assemble and no fuss to use, and it’s a great price. You really can’t go wrong with it. Highly recommend!!

Sturdy, instructions not totally clear, top acryllic cover has sharp edges
Before opening the box I was a little worried about rattling; turns out the inside packaging got smashed up somewhere along the way (although I didn’t see any damage to the box). Fortunately it appears to have done its job properly; all the important stuff is undamaged. This kit comes with everything you need to build it, including a cheap pair of drivers (one hex, one phillips). The screws aren’t separately bagged, so I recommend laying them out before you start. The manual is adequate; it doesn’t always make it clear what screw size to use or what hole to use, but with a little patience it all fits together. All the screw holes are properly drilled so as long as you get the alignment right it goes together pretty smoothly. You’ll soon know if an edge isn’t properly aligned as the screw gets stiff very quickly! The acrylic sides are covered in a plastic wrap which peels off easily. The top acrylic is covered in paper which is a lot harder to remove (maybe the worst part of the build). All in all it took me about 45 minutes to put this together.Once built the rack is sturdy; there’s no slop or wobble. The real downside is, again, the top piece of acrylic. The edges are sharp; not enough to cut but enough to make it feel like you’re scraping skin off your fingers when you go to pick it up by the handles. I would have preferred a second set of plates to match the base. For a quick test I was able to put a 2011 Mac Mini on the base, and 2 mini-PCs and a switch on the provided shelf. I might need to get a second shelf. And I need to work out how to cable manage this, especially since most smaller devices have external power bricks which will need managing.

Easy to assemble and a great first rack
The GeeekPi DeskPi RackMate T0 Plus is a fantastic option for those looking to consolidate their home server, network gear, or A/V equipment in a compact and stylish package. I recently built this with my son and the assembly was surprisingly straightforward thanks to clear instructions and a well-organized kit. The aluminum alloy construction feels robust and the translucent acrylic panels are both aesthetically pleasing and provide a good level of dust protection. Due to the aluminum construction this rack is surprisingly lightweight and the included carrying handles make relocation a breeze. The open design has good airflow which is crucial for keeping small equipment cool and even includes instructions for and the ability to mount a fan (though one isn’t included, which might initially cause some confusion). This rack is perfectly sized to house most of what a home network enthusiast needs, yet remains small enough to be easily tucked away and “wife-friendly.”A particularly nice touch was the inclusion of a spare screw of each type, clearly demonstrating this rack is aimed at hobbyists and those prone to occasional assembly mishaps. While I did need to source additional screws for mounting my own equipment, the availability of 3D printing models directly from GeeekPi is a huge bonus and showcases excellent customer support. Overall, this rack offers great value for its size and quality, especially if you’re looking to build a small server cluster or home assistant setup.
