Hitachi 2TB 0F16029 Enterprise class, 7200 RPM, 32MB Cache 3.5″ Internal Desktop Hard Drive. 2TB drive for high-capacity nearline environments, Heavy Duty Enhancing data safety and security To ensure the utmost in data safety and security, the Ultrastar A7K2000 is also available with a bulk data encryption (BDE) option. When enabled, the Hitachi BDE implementation encrypts all data on the drive using a private security key as it is written to the disk, and then decrypts it with the key as it is retrieved, giving users an extreme level of data protection. Unlike softwarebased encryption solutions, the Hitachi BDE implementation is hardware-based, so it doesn’t slow the system down. This technology also speeds up and simplifies the drive re-deployment and decommissioning process. By deleting the encryption key, the data is rendered unreadable, thereby eliminating the need for time-consuming, multi-pattern data overwrite. Delivering industry-leading reliability
With a robust fourth-generation mechanical design, Ultrastar A7K2000 is specifically built and tested for the enterprise. The Ultrastar SATA drive family features Hitachi-patented Rotational Vibration Safeguard (RVS) sensor technology, which optimizes drive reliability in multi-drive RAID arrays and rack-mounted systems.
Applications:
Power PC/Workstation/Servers
CCTV DVR Security & Surveillance Systems
NAS, RAID Storage
Rack mounted RAID arrays
Network Attached Storage (NAS)

So far, so good.
This attractively priced (but used) HDD passed a large number of disk tests shortly after I received it. I will follow up should I have any problems with it.

56k Modem sounding drive…
This is by far the loudest drive I have ever heard. when I move files to the drive it takes forever and then my entire case shakes from the drive spinning and it sounds like a 56k modem . then if I have the drive open looking at the folder I just moved data to I have to refresh the folder just to see the files I copied. I should of just paid the extra 40 bucks and got a WD drive. This is my fault for being a cheap dummy.

good storage solution
I took a chance on this “reconditioned” HDD from Hitachi as my main HDD was failing in an older Dell Tower. At the same time, I’m building a Ryzen 3700x tower with all the good stuff(SSD, NVME m.2 etc) and wanted to see if the Hitachi would work out. It’s great. Reviews I read said it was reliable, and spinning at 7200 rpm gives a satisfying data access speed. I bought another one for the Ryzen. I purchased a data protection plan as a further bit of protection in case of failure, but I don’t expect it to have issues within 4-5 years per reviews.

They last. And they work.
I have put a LOT of hours on eight of these in a very unforgiving environment (an external, low-end RAID case that is only so-so at keeping drives cool and damping vibration). I use it for online nightly backups stretching to multiple terabytes. Not a hiccup after several years. They spin up without complaint, read and write without constant audible recalibration due to heat, and just keep chugging along. I am grateful to them for providing great service for so many years.

Great value !! Love go hard drive!!
I think this is probably about the 10th hard drive I’ve purchased from go hard drive. I purchased two drives with this order both drives pasted the manufactures extended test which takes almost 24 hours. I use the drives to back up my laptop and rotate through them. The drives are fully encrypted so the drives are written to to encrypt them for close to 36 hours!!! I use them in a external dock and I leave the fan on to cool them
