One reviewer said that it no longer comes with the codes and instructions. Don’t know what they are talking about. It came with batteries AND instructions with the TV codes. It works great with my old Sony.TV and Optimum Cable box.

Works fine with Samsung TVs and cable remotes … but doesn’t capture all functions for all devices. I use this for channel surfing, and the originals for ON and OFF.

It’s Perfect
My Optimum remote control stopped working and I couldn’t figure out why. It’s very inconvenient for me to go to CABLEVISION to exchange it so I found the exact one on Amazon and ordered it from there. I had it the next day and it worked perfectly.The few dollars I paid was definitely worth it to not travel to the store.

Best Remote for Optimum Cable Replacement!!!!
I had an optimum remote I lost. I live In NY…. This one is even BETTER than the one I lost. Reason 1. No programming….I put the batteries in and immediately worked with my Samsung DVR BOX for Optimum cable in New York. Reason 2. I usually need my orginal tv remote to zoom in and out but this remote worked. Reason 3. On Demand is usually a pain to find…..with this remote just hit the button…DONE….MUCH EASIER…5 Stars!!!

Can’t be paired to TV brand – no instructions included
Will only power on Cable box (but not TV power) though it is enabled to change channels. As a result of not having TV brand code needed to pair remote to the TV, the remote is almost useless. These TV brand codes (i.e. LG, Samsung, Vizio, to name just a couple), would/should have been included in missing instructions. TV volume can’t be changed either, useless. I contacted seller, and also had “Human Chat” on site requesting (the advertised to be included ) instructions, and/or TV pairing code, without success. Was told the remotes no longer come with instructions – though stated on sales site’s that instructions are included. Looked on Cablevision site, googled for necessary code(s), and also tried to find on You Tube, etc., again no success. Very unhappy with this purchase (and I had bought 2).

Not compatible with all cable boxes
After programming, this remote works to turn on/off and adjust the volume. It does not work to change channels or work the DVR functions. Be prepared to make do with those functions or return.
