Fair review of like and dis-like
I have owned several brands of outdoor cameras over many years. There’s a lot of garbage out there. After reading the reviews on this camera I was skeptical, however the poor reviews seemed more like user error than product, so I went for it.I’ve had that camera now for over a year and it has been a rockstar. It did crash once a few months ago, I rebooted it and it has been flawless since. I have since purchased two more and they are also operating at the same level. Doing what I expect. What I like: Quality build. It feels beefy and it works well. Smooth and does what you expect. I really love the dual camera. I leave one wide angle (default) and the 2nd zoom to get more detail on that same scene. The tracking works really well and even zooms in and out. What I don’t like: It can be slow to connect to the camera from the app. Not horrible, but sometimes longer than a wifi connected camera. I suspect this may be due to our rural location over cellular and not the camera performance. The main thing that drives me nuts is the app. It works well overall but as you drill down on video’s and then hit the back button, you can be buried several layers deep taking a lot of clicks to get back to the main screen. Easy software app fix.I’m digging deep on the dis-likes. Really, this is the best outdoor camera I’ve found yet.

Great camera but if you live in cold country you may want to get a 12 watt solar panel.
I wanted a wireless solar camera that I could connect to my home network. This is a great camera for the money and the quality of the video is pretty good. The only issue I have is that I live in the north and it gets really cold. The camera comes with a 6 watt solar panel and when it gets down below freezing and the sky is overcast it barely keeps up with keeping the camera charged. We had a week solid like this and it finally died. So I put one of their 12 watt solar panels and it solved my problem. I brought it inside and charged it up and with the new solar panel it has been fully charged since.

Great option for wireless installs!
The Reolink TrackMix is an awesome camera. Easy to set up, and easy to use. Smaller than the RLC – 823 a, which makes it easier to install in the eaves of your house. I do wish it had higher optical zone, but the 6X offered by the second lens is fairly decent for identifying squirrels and other critters in your yard. Based upon the function and used that I get out of the camera, it is definitely worth the price. My one complaint is that there does not appear to be a way in the app to block out sections of the image that you don’t want to look for movement. Which is strange because there is that option in the app for the 823a.

Buggy Garbage!
I searched for a long time for a good battery-operated camera that had PTZ and autotracking. The dual cameras, with one zoomed in, seemed like a perfect match to overlook a parking lot. I was wrong. It is a terrible mess at doing what it’s supposed to do.It’s brand new, with an 8x zoom. For that, I paid an extra $100 over the previous model. However, the depth of view in the parking lot is so small, it almost never zooms in. When it does zoom in and try autotracking, half the time it moves in the opposite direction of the motion. If movement is going left, it pans right, realizes the mistake, then pans left and overshoots. It’s just terrible.I saw it had streaming capabilities, but didn’t realize it required a separate $100 hub. I picked up the hub and enabled streaming, and the battery was dead one hour later. The next day, when the sun came up, the camera struggled to get just a few percent charge—barely enough to wake up. As I write this, it’s still dead at one of the sunniest times of the day.I connected a POE doorbell to the hub as well, since I already used that with streaming. Now the Trackmix can’t handle streaming, and the solar is far too weak to keep it awake for long. I disabled streaming again, but now the doorbell can’t stream either. So my options are: remove the Trackmix from the hub and lose streaming (which defeats the purpose of the hub), remove the doorbell from the hub (which makes the chime stop working), and so on.Why advertise streaming capability when solar can’t keep it running for more than an hour or two? Why have autotracking if it can’t move in the right direction? Why offer dual lenses and zoom if 99% of the time, the subject is too close for it to zoom in at all? This camera is only good if you mount it high above the ground, with a solid 100 feet of distance in front of it for tracking. If your movement is left to right in front of the camera, you’ll have a bad time. If the movement is coming toward the camera, maybe it’s fine.I really should have gone with the Atlas PT Ultra. It seems like it would be better suited for what I need. I should not have been fooled by the 6x or 8x zoom claims. The zoom is worthless, the autotracking is worthless, and the streaming is worthless.Edit: Reolink offered a full refund and then told me to return the camera instead. Note all the other glowing reviews came from people who got the product for free from the Vine program. That doesn’t change how I feel about this camera, it has serious issues.

Really great camera
I absolutely love it. Someone said that it was buggy but on my end over here it’s working very well. I’m very surprised how well it can track. I started worrying about what the neighbors would think but they got used to it. Some even park their trucks closer that have tools and things like that to use it for surveilence. I don’t mind.Keeping thieves out of our neighborhoods will really end up being a joint effort. About the solar panel. I have an overhang on my roof with the gutter and I did have to lower both the camera and solar panel for it to charge better. The cable for the solar panel is quite long so it might even be better to put it some distance away from the camera to get a better angle on direct sunlight. As far as storage is concerned. You can have local storage on a computer or a hub if you really want to let it run all day. Or, you can also have micro sd card. From what I could tell in the instructions that I received it allows a class 10 128GB microsd card. It can also send alerts to your email, FTP, push notifications. It’s creepy how it tracks but I like it. I’ve got it tracking a beautiful orange cat that lives close to me. He was on the hunt this morning. So fun to watch. I started talking to him through the camera from my phone and the cat didn’t know what to think. Just kept looking back as if to say “what now?” can’t you see that I’m trying to hunt?

A new design with all the high end features one would need. This 4k solar camera with 180 degree field of view, 6 ghz wifi and colour night vision sounds like a banger. But It might be wise to think about use cases and placement. Before purchasing this unit. This product is an all in one solution for those that don’t own the REOLINK bay station. The feature set:IK10 vandal-proof design, it ensures reliable surveillance even in high-risk environments.UHDdual 8MP lenses =16MP UHDCOLOUR NIGHT VISION: x vision clear ( high ISO )LensesF/1.0 aperturesensor1/1.8″ CMOS sensorinfrared8x infrared LED lights unveil all night details up to 100ft.dual view180° PANORAMIC VIEW & MOTION TRACK: The dual-image stitching algorithms, coupled with 4-core SoC, create 180° panoramic views with less distortion & fewer blind spots.detection algorithmSMART DETECTION & TWO-WAY AUDIO: Smartly detect person/car/animal movements from other objects, reducing false alarms. Plus, time-lapse condenses long-term events into minutes, facilitating easy observation of transformations. The good:1 High resolution images with great dynamic range HDR2 large field of view that offers a great sense of scale and security3 powered from the sun4 adjustable blind spot ( in app )5 No fee local storage ( with perches of hub )minor Issues:1 sometimes the image stitching algorithm fails, making the resulting image broken is the transition between the dual lens setup. ( rare )2 night vision is good but is best at around the 20 to 50 meeter range. Beyond this point faces and other aspects such as cloth and ( accessories )become dim.3 The coloured night vision exhibits a slight green cast ( reminding me of classic NVG goggles ). Yet still offers high precision colours.3 Detection zone failures. Sometimes the camera won’t detect a person or object if it is less then 35% in the frame ( example a head and upper torso ) might not trigger the cams auto detect. This has happened on some occasions when testing this. Works 95% of the timeFinal thought; 5 out of 5With this units overall high cost of entry. This might be for some, a higher price to pay. For an innovative design that somewhat fails to hit the mark 100% of the time. If you own the bay station and other cameras from this company then it will be a great addition to your security setup. But you must always keep in mind, that with new tech their might be some bugs that need ironing out. So always update you’re firmware and keep you’re troubleshooting guide handy and you will be fine.

I’ve been using Reolink products for a decade now and I’ve always been satisfied with the value & quality of their cameras. This TrackMix 4K solar security camera has really nice video quality in daytime and really good night time also.It was easy adding the camera on my phone via the Android APP.It has dual camera’s, one wide angle gives you a large view of my entire backyard, while the telephoto lens zooms in on things it’s tracking. On the APP each lens has it’s own video feed that you can view. The smart tracking works really good on people and pets also. Since it’s setup in our backyard we don’t have any car traffic but it also has vehicule tracking. The advantages of a battery solar powered security camera is that you can set it up anywhere and you don’t need to run network cable or plug it to a power outlet. Also you camera will keep working even during a power outage as long as your battery has a charge.Another big advantage of Reolink is that they don’t force you into a subscription and spend money monthly to be able to fully use the camera and all it’s features.Yes they offer cloud recording but you can also use a Reolink NVR or Hub, setup your own “NVR” on computer and use the PC software and finally record locally on a SD card.If you need a solar security camera with great video quality, PTZ capabilities and not be tied down to a subscription model, the Reolink TrackMix is probably one of the best quality & value you can get.

This product arrived the next day via Amazon Prime and was packaged in a simple cardboard retail box.We have Reolink doorbell that works surprisingly well so I was happy to order this item to try it out. I ordered this a while ago and I am currently waiting for the last of our snow to go before installing but I thought I would provide some initial impressions. I have been testing the solar panel functionality out and it has had surprisingly decent results despite not being placed in an optimal situation whatsoever. I have set this up temporarily on our pet to see how good the night vision and tracking features are and I am presently surprised with the accuracy. The instructions are easy enough to understand I love that I can use the app we use with our doorbell. I think the installation process will be easy enough but I shall have to update once we have installed this permanently because I have never dabbled with solar paneling before. The asking price of $349 CAD is reasonable, a little high but then again I feel most things are overpriced these days, although I would not hesitate to pick these up again at full price. I can’t wait to try this out!

5 out of 5A new aspect of design with some great features . This 4k PTZl dual lens camera with 160 degree field of view, 256g optional storage 2.4 or 5 ghz wifi and colour night vision sounds like a deal. Especially with it’s new upgraded solar panel and larger battery offering even more bang for you’re buck. This along side a 2 tear zoom design that offers police and law enforcement better chances of facial recognition. The feature set:One 8mp lensone 5mp lens designed to zoom into the frameCOLOR NIGHT VISION:x vision clear ( high ISO ) 2025 version with much less noise and higher fidelityinfraredinfrared LED lights unveil all night details up to 20 feet.detection algorithmSMART DETECTION & TWO-WAY AUDIO: Smartly detect person/car/animal movements from other objects, reducing false alarms. Plus, time-lapse condenses long-term events into minutes, facilitating easy observation of transformations. With all this out of the way, the camera itself really does offer a great field of view from head to toe. The 3d unwrapping feature helps the app see undistorted lines and shapes. Providing you with a more true to life view of a person or object. Having a remote view of someone at you’re door step really adds a sense of security and peace of mind. I never thought it would be so useful until I installed this little gem. Now I see when my amazon packages arrive and Who’s driving the vehicle. I can talk to the person directly or leave messages that will chime when needed. I can see the uber eats delivery guy arrive so I am ready to greet him. I see when my family and friends come for a visit unexpectedly. It really is amazing how I’ve missed out all these years of not having this security feature installed.Final thought; 5 out of 5The back door is always a source of anxiety since it’s the second point of entry to you’re home. Keeping this in mind most back entry ways aren’t visible from inside you’re domicile. With this dual lens camera you can finally put those worries to rest. With fantastic picture quality, 2 way communication, auditory alert, night vision, remote viewing in app and 2 way storage options. This is a must have tool in you’re security arsenal.
