This TAA-Compliant 1G Network Isolator with 4kV isolation is bus-powered and provides a separation of all conductive connections between devices connected via an Ethernet cable. The isolator helps prevent ground loops in audio and video equipment. This isolator features simple plug-and-play setup with no software, drivers, power supply, or grounding wire required. The isolator acts as a coupler, with two RJ45 ports for two Cat5 or Cat6 cables to connect compatible equipment to a computer or data network. this is a nice item for the isolation of those machines that do not want poe on the line…In fact some mfr’s will not honor warranty without such an item.Only draw back… is you need a small patch cord to connect to the machine.

Just works
I plugged this in between my modem and wifi router. Seems to just work, no noticable performance hit. Nice to add some isolation with no grounding required. Would be nice if it was a bit more than 4kV.

Ich hatte in unregelmäßigen Abständen mit meiner fritzbox 7950AX Verbindungsabbrüche über den WAN Port zur Fritzbox, die als Router mit dem Glasfasermodem verbunden ist.Der Router befindet sich in einem Haus ca. 100m von meinem Router in der Werkstatt. Beide Gebäude sind somit nicht auf dem gleichen Erdpotential. Ich vermute es gab erhebliche Spannungsspitzen, die meine Box abstürzen ließen. Anschließend musste das RJ45 aus dem WAN Port entfernt werden und meist auch ein kompletter Neustart der Box durchgeführt werden.Die galvanische Trennung scheint mittels dieses kleinen Geräts das Problem gelöst zu haben.
