Easy installation and setup and works great
After some research we decided to order the EVIQO charger for level 2 home charging for our new 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. We had a 50A circuit installed when we built our house with the intent of being EV ready so all that was needed for this install was a receptacle (used a Hubble HBL9450). I’m an experienced DIY guy so this was an easy project for me. Because we had a 50A circuit, the plug in version was fine for our use though the benefit of being able to use the same charger for a 60A circuit, should we want to on the future, along with the long plug adapter, was a plus for us. We researched several reviews and came to the EVIQO or a ChargePoint unit as our best fit. We chose the EVIQO based on reviews, price, and features. The unit was nicely packaged. My only real complaint is with the instructions and user guide. While they are complete, I found them needlessly verbose, with a lot of redundant and repeated information which forced me to read them very carefully to not miss anything. The manual could definitely be streamlined and clarified for a better installation experience with less chance of confusion and missed important details.Installing the hardware was very easy. I wasn’t particularly comfortable with only mounting everything to drywall, so I put up a piece of 3/4″ plywood, which was attached to studs, and then mounted everything. I think that this is much more robust and professional looking. After installing the app and powering up the unit, it was quickly and easily found and installed. After a quick firmware update, we were ready to go.The power cable has a very good length and feels high quality. The charger connection is particularly impressive. The connector and the release look to be similar weight and quality to commercial level 3 chargers that we’ve used with a metal release and a robust connector.After a couple of weeks of use, we’re very happy with our choice. The charger seems to communicate fine with our Lyriq and we consistently have about a 9.9kW charge rate, which is around 27 mi/charging hour on our Lyriq. The app is simple and intuitive to configure and use. We’ve found this a great value and are happy so far and recommend it.

I bought the charger for my new Vinfast VF8 and have been using it for over a month now. The charger has been performing excellent so far. I got the unit installed outside and the charger has worked without any issues at all in extreme cold conditions, rain and snow.The app is also extremely easy to use. The current can be set from 1 amp to 40 amps by a simple slider on the app. This is very convenient, as you can adjust the charging speed based on the load and requirements. The build quality is also very premium and it is a very well designed and sturdy product, overall.The manufacturer has contacted me a couple of times to know how happy I am with the product and to know if I require any support. They are available 24/7 for any requirements.As a very satisfied user, I definitely recommend this charger to anyone to plans to purchase or replace, and it is a value-for-money product and the performance is excellent.

The unit is well-built, and the cable feels robust.​However, there is a significant design flaw that buyers planning to use this unit in shared or public spaces must be aware of: Unplugging the charger from the wall outlet instantly releases the electronic lock securing the cable to the car’s charging port.​This means that if the charger is accessible to others (for example, in a shared garage or a public outdoor spot), the cable is easily susceptible to theft. A person simply needs to disconnect the unit from its power source on the wall, and the expensive cable is immediately unlocked and free to be stolen from your vehicle.​While this charger performs admirably and is perfect for a fully private, secure installation, the lack of independent locking security means I cannot recommend it for public or easily accessible charging locations due to the high risk of theft.
