I protect all electronic devices from lightning strikes, love how light lithium makes this.
I’ve been using UPS devices since around 1983, and I have never had a LITHIUM version. SO much lighter, but it doesn’t complain or stagger when I unplug it while I have 4 different devices plugged into it including a large flatscreen tv. It seems so far to be great value for the price and the power level of 600 watts which is not quite double of what is plugged in. I have other older UPS so I will be buying this again when they stop functioning reliably. Oh, and the switch over when I unplugged it to simulate a power outage was flawless.

Highly Recommended UPS, with a technical flaw that impacts Apple Mac users.
I purchased the 1000VA/600W unit “upgraded PRO version with Communication Port” (USB connection to computer or NAS). I really like this UPS.* First of all, ALL of the outlets are both surge protected and backed up by the battery. I no longer have to pick which items will have to go “dark” when the power flickers or goes out.* Second, I got the white color, and it looks really nice – especially when compared to the “ugly duckling” UPS products from other vendors.* Finally, I really like the fact that the batteries (LiFePo4) make for a smaller, lighter unit, and that the batteries themselves have a 10 year useful life. I get so tired of replacing the batteries in my old lead-acid UPS systems every two years or so – and these days, those lead-acid batteries cost almost as the UPS itself! I will replace those UPS with GoldenMate units as their batteries die off.The one minor complaint I have is that the GoldenMate UPS firmware has a bug that causes it to intermittently send a false notification to MacOS that the system is running on battery power (indicating that the main power has failed), but in fact there is no failure. The LCD display still shows power from the A/C mains, and there is no “beep” alarm from the unit itself – only the spurious warning from the software. This “bug” causes a “Warning” message to pop up on the Mac screen (which goes away in just a couple of seconds) warning you to shut everything down. I’ve learned to just ignore it unless there is also an audio “beep” from the UPS itself.I would normally have dropped my review to a “4 star” rating because of this “bug”, but GoldenMate technical support was very responsive when I reached out to them. Once they understood the problem, they offered some work-arounds that may well have been very acceptable – if my UPS was connected to a NAS (network attached storage system) or a Windows PC. Unfortunately, there are minimal options in the MacOS configuration for UPS, so it cannot be resolved adequately without a firmware update on GoldenMate’s part. Support says their developers are working on this, but didn’t have a firm timeline for resolution. So my immediate choices are to either A) live with the annoying pop-up message (which interrupts my workflow because it opens in the foreground), or B) just unplug the USB cable and pretend I have the less expensive “non-USB” version. I opted for “plan B” and GoldenMate was kind enough to refund the difference in price between the USB and non-USB versions, which I believe is a very fair and equitable resolution. It’s as though I had purchased the less expensive “non-Pro” unit, which is still head-and-shoulders above the other UPS out there…I do hope GoldenMate are eventually able to update the firmware so this issue is no longer present, but I’m satisfied with the refund they offered. If GoldenMate ever gets back to me with a firmware update, I’ll report that by updating my review. Meanwhile, unless you are using a NAS or a Windows PC, I would recommend saving the $40 difference in cost, and just get the “non-Pro” version. Which, by the way, I would still HIGHLY recommend!

Lithium Ion UPS replacement for Schnieder APC Lead-Acid
Product works good. I just ignore it. But the APC product had a windows app I miss.

Promising UPS.
This unit is lightweight and supposed to last 5000 charge cycles due to the use of Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. I like the meters on the front panel that report actual voltage and load. I have not tested it with our generator yet but its AVR is supposed to compensate for irregularities in that power source. I hope so because I bought two of them.

Great UPS for home office
Got sick of replacing lead-acid batteries in my old UPS every couple of years, so thought I’d give a LiFePO4 unit a try. This 1000VA/600W unit is light weight and easy to handle. It arrived with 80% charge, so I could deploy it immediately. This is powering a Mac-mini + switch + hub and a large monitor. It shows about a 75W draw.Configuration in MacOS was trivial. Plugged in the USB A-B cable and the unit showed up in SystemSettings->Energy with the settings for the previous UPS preserved. So, no compatibility problems with a Mac.Controls are effectively via a single front-panel button (there’s an overload reset button on the back). The dispaly shows battery level, with watts and volts for both input and output. This indicates a ~1 watt continuous power consumption when not charging, with a recharge rate at about 15 watts. That recharge rate is fairly slow but that is probably good for battery life.Manufacturer predicts battery life of 10 years, so hopefully I won’t have to update the review before 2035.

Works properly with my two QNAP NAS
Bought on Nov 27 2025. This is newer version with the usb communication port that sends messages to NAS when power outages occur. I tested it with my two QNAP NAS (TS 464, TS 459 pro II) both recognized the UPS and shut off properly when I created power outage scenarios. (Turn off the server 1 mins after the outage). It’s way easier to deal with compared to the older lead battery UPS. Now my NAS, internet, and tv are powered behind this product. Not sure why these heavy lead battery models are still on the market for non-enterprise user honestly. This is initial review. I will give more updates later on.

Good reliable power
Plenty of power, much lighter than lead/acid good price

So far so good
I’ve tested twice unplugged UPS and it lasted more than an hour (with 65~70w consumption). However, the unit does not support fast charging so it takes up to 6 hours to fully charged. Nevertheless it comes handy when there is a short power outage. I connect WiFi router, cable modem, Amazon Blink modules and a several smart surge protectors so even when there’s power outage, I can still access internet and Amazon blink cameras around an hour until power goes back. This is exactly what I needed.
