Does this device require any complicated setup?
No, it comes pre-configured from the factory. Simply unbox the devices, set them to the same channel, and they are ready to use immediately.
What is the communication range?
In an open area, the range is approximately 1000 meters (about 0.6 miles or 3280 ft). With obstacles or walls, the range is about 20-100 meters (65-330 ft). Vertically, it works across approximately 1 to 8 floors.
How long does the battery last?
With typical use (about 5 calls per day, 30 seconds each), the battery lasts around 1 week. With heavy frequency use, it lasts about 3 days. The standby time is up to 30 days.
How loud is it and how do I adjust the volume?
It features 3 adjustable volume levels.
To adjust ringtone volume: Use the volume keys while the device is in standby mode.
To adjust voice/call volume: Hold down the TALK button and use the volume keys simultaneously.

They were a little difficult to set up, but they worked fine after that. The sound is loud enough for the hearing impaired (being one), and there is a good distance allowed, but I did not test to the possible full range. I am glad of the purchase.
