Solid Weatherproof Mount for Ubiquiti Cameras
Great mount for my Ubiquiti camera system. I picked it up to protect the cable connections from the elements, and it does the job well—sturdy and weatherproof. Installation was a bit tricky at first (instructions could be clearer), but once I got through the first one, the rest were a breeze. High quality mounts with only minor issues …
These are very nice mounts and I had no trouble finding a pattern to match two makes of bullet cameras: Q-See and Ezviz both had symmetric matching patterns. The casings are nice quality and include the machine screws necessary to mount your camera as well as screws to attach the mount to your dwelling. I used these for a 4 camera POE security system. I took off one star for the following reasons: The hole in the center of the mount cover that allow the camera wires to enter the mount is not quite large enough in diameter to fit all RJ-45 female receptacles (see photo 1). The Q-See receptacle fit ok but the Ezviz receptacles were too large which required reducing the plastic corners of the receptacle using a Dremel tool until it would fit. The photo shows before and after using the Dremel on the receptacle.The other issue is that the three holes for power/network ingress (two side and one bottom) are not threaded making it challenging to mate these with conventional conduit systems. In the US, either a 3/4″ or 1/2″ conduit connection is going to be the most common. The diameter of the ingress holes on the mounts are probably suitable for a 3/4″ tap but without a professional machine shop, I would not want to attempt that. However, I found the following top hat grommets worked like a charm to allow a very snug fit using a 1/2″ water tight PVC fitting: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M6B5BYZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Once inserted, the grommet can then be thread with a 1/2″ fitting for a very snug connection. The second photo shows a mounted camera with a 1/2″ water tight pvc fitting threaded using a grommet in a side mount hole.Two last tips: there is less room inside the mount for extra wire than you might desire. For instance, I wanted to leave 2-3 feet of excess wire at the mounts to make it easier to finish the installation when it’s time to crimp the connector on the ethernet cable and make the connection the the camera. This is especially desirable if you will be working on a ladder. Unfortunately, I was only able to get about 2 feet of excess Cat 6 wire to fit inside the mount along with the wire from the camera feeds crammed in as well – and that was a tight fit and difficult to accomplish at 20 feet above ground with both arms outstretched. The other tip: I recommend not using any strain relief on your ethernet cables at the mount point as this just makes the amount of linear space you need to accommodate the LAN connection to you camera receptacle longer and tighter to fit inside the mount – it also shifts the strain from the LAN side wires to the camera side wires which are typically more frail.

I continue to order these every time I install outdoor cameras they are a must have to get a professional install these make the install so much more pleasant you get to hide the unsightly camera tail and weather boot that are on most POE cameras. Also protects BNC connections in a nice weather proof box highly recommend.
